Liatris
Liatris origins from North America and appertain to the Asteraceae family. It has a straight stem, 60-80 centimeters in height, with thick fibered leaves. Flowers open in thick, wreath-like blooms. Because of their perpendicularity they do not take up much space in the garden, and they are especially decorative when planted in small groups in garden beds with lawns, or under trees or bushes. This plant requires a sunny position, but it can sustain a mild shade. It requires moist soil, enriched with nutritive substances and with good drainage, but it can sustain drought.
